Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair

46.3% ABV

£38.00

Stiùireadair (pronounced 'stew-rahdur') is our newest and thrilling addition to our Bunnahabhain range of single malt whiskies. To create Stiùireadair, Dr Kirstie McCallum, our Master Blender, has carefully selected maturing spirit of varying ages from first and second fill sherry casks, housed in our coastline warehouses to construct a dram that truly exposes the coastal nature of our Bunnahabhain Islay single malt whisky.

Unpeated, un-chillfiltered and with the sherry influence everyone knows and loves with Bunnahabhain, Kirstie has crafted a fresh and vibrant new member of our single malt family.

A great whisky to celebrate all that is good about life! If you close your eyes while enjoying your dram, Stiùireadair ('Helmsman' in Gaelic) will guide you back to our distillery pier, looking out towards the Sound of Islay, while listening to the sea washing over Bunnahabhain's stony beach... Slainte!

Tasting Notes

Open the covers of this tale and you’ll find this 25 year old has an amber gold colouring with quite a sherried nose initially, that goes on to introduce a stunning sweet caramel dessert aroma, beautifully entwined with subtle suggestions of oak and polished leather. The indulgence of sweet berries and cream ensures a wonderful mélange of tastes that progress into a roasted nut and malt feast. The finish is soft and dry with a delicate dispersal of sugar and spiced oak flavours lingering on the tongue.
